Useful links
Links to sites that might help and encourage you on your dance journey. These are sites we have found most useful or interesting to us. But please remember your teacher is there to help and guide you in class. Just ask!
Ballet In Form
This is an educational website from the professional world of ballet and aims to feature 1-3 new videos per week from a large library of video content. Ballet In Form’s goal is to "educate, inform and inspire both teachers and dancers; and forge a global community for the enrichment and deeper understanding of ballet."
American Ballet Theatre ballet dictionary
"Pas de whaaa....?"
We know that some of the ballet terms are confusing, never mind the steps themselves. The ABT ballet dictionary not only provides phonetic spellings, but also videos demonstrating the steps.
Eating well
This may be a new adventure for you or you are taking your dance classes very seriously, but either way eating well is important in taking care of your dancing body. LIVESTRONG has provided an excellent article on healthy meal plans for dancers.
Pointe shoe fittings
Taking that brave step into the world of pointe is, with the right teacher and training, within reach for the adult dancer. Your teacher will have guidance on how to find the right shoes, but have a look at this link for interesting and important information on why finding the right size and brand is essential.
